NEW APARTMENT COMING FOR WINTER 2020!

We are very excited to announce our latest addition to the Vaujany Ski Chalets collection. Chalet Herbert is in the final throes of building works and will be ready to let in time for this ski season (2019 / 2020).

Photos will be coming soon but in the meantime here's a teaser:

  • Location: you can't get closer to the lifts! Chalet Herbert is in the new 'Le Saphir' complex right next to the central lift station
  • Bedrooms: 4 bedrooms, sleeping 8
  • What we can't wait for: Sitting out on the big south-facing balconies in this second floor apartment and watching the sun go down after an amazing day on the slopes

This great article about Vaujany in the Guardian by Felice Hardy sums up just why we love Vaujany. We hope to be included in articles like this in years to come...

“Great little ski resorts: Vaujany, France”

This unspoilt village on the doorstep of the vast Alpe d’Huez ski area offers stunning scenery, but is free of the crowds and commercialism of the bigger resort.

The village of Vaujany, an hour by car from Grenoble, struck unexpected gold in the 1980s when the government compulsorily purchased a giant chunk of land for France’s largest hydro-electric scheme. Astute villagers invested the money in what was then the largest cable-car in the country, to reach the slopes above the neighbouring Alpe d’Huez ski resort.

Why try it?

The vast size of the ski area, gobsmacking scenery and the family facilities, including a state-of-the-art creche and leisure complex. Vaujany is an unspoilt destination offering great skiing without the big resort hubbub. It won’t suit partygoers and keen shoppers though.
